The Time Traveller

This world will come to an end so we better make the best of it, at least that's what Jacks Mum always said. Calmly, he walked towards the old abandoned bus stop. Who would have thought that day was today ...

Earlier today,
" Jack I'm sorry your Mum died. She was able to write the will though "  whispered Dad into Jack's ear.
Jack was crying too much to reply.
" It says she left with you her clock "Dad whispered back to Jack, handing him mum's old clock.
Jack thought to himself, was he really that worthless to Mum to not get anything good. All his cousins got way cooler stuff then he did.
" Well, do you want to take a stroll down the neighborhood " asked Jacks Dad.
Jack nods, putting his clock in his old bag.
Slowly, they both walk out of the hospital. Nobody was outside. The town looked abandoned. Jack wondered where'd everybody gone and seeing the look in Dads eye, he was thinking the same thing.
They wandered back to their house.
" Let's organise everything for your cousins " Dad suggested.
They rummaged through Jack's mum's stuff. Suddenly, he found a note.
It read
Dear my family,
If you are reading this I must be dead. I knew this day would come. I need you to know that the day I die is an important day. It is the end of  your life and many others life. Jack, you should have my clock with you correct. It may look like an ordinary clock but it is actually a time machine. I need you to travel to the future. YOU CANNOT STAY IN THE PRESENT at least not for now. Once you're in the future, go to that old abandoned bus stop. It should be in the same spot it always is. You'll meet an old man named Dave. All you've got to do is hold the clock and think of where you want to go.
From: Kate Smith
He turned around to his dad. Instead there was a dead body.
Quickly he did as his mum said and after that he was teleported to the future.

Everything he saw was wrecked and in ruins. He walked towards the bus stop. In his sight was an old man who looked just as wrecked as the town.
" So, you're finally here Jack. Took ya long enough " the old man grumbled.
" You're Dave right " asked Jack.
" Yep, so Kate asked you to come meet me aye "
" Yeah but first can you answer some questions like what happened here "
" Don't worry I'll answer all your questions. Listen closely cause I won't repeat myself.
The thing is, your family holds this ancient artifact which is the time machine. It has been passed down from generation to generation. Once your mum got it from her mum she already made a promise to give it to you once she died. In that time the clock got damaged which caused the end of the world. When she died, it killed people off one by one which caused this town to become in ruins. Since you were the next time machine keeper you were protected by the clock "

"So what am I supposed to do now" Jack asked.
" I can fix the clock which will make all those people who died come back alive again"
Dave took the clock and quickly fixed it.
"Now go back just after your Mum died and try not to use this ever again "
" Thank you and farewell " Jack said as he teleported back.
He was back in the hospital.
" Well, do you want to take a stroll down the neighborhood " Dad whispered to him as if nothing happened.
Jack smiled.
"Yes!"

The Deep

" Yes! We're finally here " Yelled Daniel, as he gazed upon the glimmering ocean and the bright yellow sand.
"Bye Mum, I'm going to change into my swimming togs and get my raft"
" Wait for us" shouted his Mum but before she knew it, Daniel was already in the ocean.
Daniel always loved the water. He felt in his element. It was also the perfect way to complete his mission. His friends told him about the monster of the sea, often found down deep. He claimed to them he'd be able to track it down and kill it but they wouldn't believe him. This was his chance. He set his raft and sailed out. Calmly, he rowed his raft through the ocean. Honestly, he was getting bored. It had been 10 minutes and his parents would be wondering where he drifted off to. Suddenly, he heard a small noise. Something was lurking beneath him.
" YES! finally " screamed Daniel in joy. Quickly, he put on his snorkeler and dove in. He'd never been this far into the ocean. Swimming a little deeper he found it. It was gigantic, scary, unbelievable and too hard to explain. It looked like it noticed Daniel but for some reason it didn't gobble him up. He wondered why. Daniel came a bit closer.
Nothing happened.
It looked a bit sad but he couldn't tell.
He remembered his mission but just felt sad now. Why would he kill a creature that wasn't a threat to him. But there was one thing he wanted to do. Slowly, he swam towards the creature. Gently, he patted it. It was soft and cool but no one would believe him. Then he swam back to his raft. Once he got back to the shore his parents quickly came and looked worried.
" Where'd you swim off to and what took you so long " Daniel's parents questioned.
Daniel answered "It's a long story"

The Great Drain Game

Today some people came to talk to us about drains and water. We split into groups and did activities. The first activity our group did was finding all the rainwater drains. We had a map of the school and marked each spot that had a rainwater drain. It was kind of confusing cause some drains were for other things like toilet water. There were 23 rainwater drains in total.

The second activity we did was outside the caravan. There was a scaled model of a town and on a table beside it was a drain, a toilet, a sink and a bin. A teacher gave each of us an object which we had to decide where this object should go. The teacher told us how only toilet paper, pee or poo should go in the toilet (Not even normal tissues), only rainwater should go in the drain, sinks should have the normal water, soap water or paint and other things should go in the bin. After we got it right or wrong the teacher would ask us if it would go to the waste water treatment plant (water from the sinks and toilets) or the ocean (Water from drains).  It was fun.

Our last activity was in the hall. First we learned about what the wetlands are. There lived a lot of native NZ birds, fish and insects. Also we learned about filtering water. Basically there was some soil in a cut bottle that was connected to some grass. The teacher pored some dirty water into the bottle and then when the water came to the grass the water became a little bit cleaner.
Hope you enjoy!

Rugby Graph

This is a graph of which rugby player has played the most matches. (The person on the far left is Jonny Wilkinson but his name didn't show up)

This graph is on how many tries each player scored.
This graph is on how many penalties each player made.

These graphs I made using google spreadsheets. It was hard at first but I got the hang of it. My tip would be to remember to add titles to make it easy to understand.
Hope you enjoy!
